Extremely tardy photo dump from the Call and Response tour in DC in conversation with my dear friend and Soror, A’Lelia Bundles who is the descendant and biographer of Madam C. J. Walker and her daughter A’Lelia Walker—both of whom appear in Call and Response due to their ties to the AME church.

It was a less than 18 hour trip to the nation’s capital, but it was fun and enriching connecting with new faces and familiar ones.

So when she enthusiastically arranged for me to be on her podcast The Process to discuss Call and Response, I was thrilled. Her conversations are so intelligent, so it was the perfect platform to go deep into the leadership framework that bolsters the book. This book has personality for days. One of the Call and Response churches received their recognition today, and in return, they recognized me.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table after both services today. It was a joy meeting many of you, reconnecting with others and hugging those who just keep showing up again and again!

No pressure at all...right? I always get a little nervous when I'm speaking to a well-credentialed scholar, but I have to say that this book has been extremely well received from academia, with some universities buying the books in bulk.
