Since March, I’ve been moving at a pace that only purpose can justify.

✅ Delivered a keynote on ethics to graduating TCU seniors
✅ Shared insights at DC Public Library on post-traumatic growth + joy

With so much beyond our control, how can we as leaders steer our teams, families, and ourselves through the unknown?

Here are three tips to manage uncertainty effectively:

✅ Cultivate Emotional Agility
Emotional agility is about staying in touch with what you’re feeling without judgement and adapting as circumstances evolve. Research from Harvard Business Review shows that leaders who practice emotional agility make better decisions in high-stress situations. Begin by slowing down, acknowledging your feelings, and opening yourself to change.

✅ Find What’s Certain and Express Gratitude
In times of upheaval, focusing on the constants in your life can foster resilience. Studies published in The Journal of Positive Psychology reveal that practicing gratitude can lower stress and increase life satisfaction. Identify and appreciate what remains steady—it’s a grounding practice that can bring calm.

✅ Embrace Positive Emotions
Positive psychology tells us that engaging positive emotions helps buffer against stress. Techniques like gratitude, mindfulness, and connecting with supportive communities promote a sense of serenity and empower us to face challenges with a clearer mind.
