Stopped by my local Barnes & Noble to sign the tai

Stopped by my local Barnes & Noble to sign the tail end of their Call and Response inventory before they have to re-order.

This table may look like it’s fully stocked, but when you consider that their initial order in February was 200 books, you’ll understand that they’re getting low! It’s still in the new and noteworthy section and if you hurry, you can still get a signed edition. They’re at the Barnes & Noble Hillside Village location in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Some of them have sleeves some of them have stickers all of them have my signature with a special note. This is just an indication that these books are still moving strong just like I am on this book tour.

In fact, I just added one more Washington DC stop in September. Look for me at the Congressional Black Caucus’ Annual Legislative Conference.

I’m also planning to make a cameo at the Executive Leadership Council Annual gala after hosting the Mid-level Managers Symposium’s virtual experience for two days where I’ll be sprinkling in all sorts of leadership lessons from the book we kickoff with the keynote conversation with Xavier Williams. I also just executed the contract to show up in Houston at Hewlett Packard Enterprises.

Yesterday, the Call and Response book tour made a stop in Richardson, Texas, for a women's conference called "Experience is the Advantage."

I was excited to speak to a room of 50+ women who were looking for a little encouragement, inspiration and strategy in this age of career upheaval.

I was able to share with them some insights from the Leadership Revival Framework and many of the neuroscience and positive psychology-based leadership theories found in the book and sign books afterwards.

I really appreciated the invitation to engage with my sisters! Congrats to @tamalabardlett on a fantastic inaugural event. Thank you, again, to The Dock Bookshop for showing up and supporting book sales!

It’s rare that I put in work locally on a Saturday

It’s rare that I put in work locally on a Saturday, but sometimes you go where duty calls, and you respond. 🚙💨📙

What I haven’t been sharing is that I’ve been teaching other coaches over the past several weeks. It all kicked off with the Coach Training Intensive in June and it’s been nonstop ever since. I wrapped the Certified Personal & Executive Coach (CPEC) Classes “Business Smarts” and now am teaching “Pricing, Proposals and Profitability” to the CPEC grads and others seeking their level 2 training in the Advanced Professional Coaching (APC) certification program. All of this for the @cappinstitute . We wrap this Wednesday before more classes kickoff in September!

And yes, the Call and Response book tour continues all while the practice is nonstop and grad classes begin for me at @britedivinity. This fall is shaping up to be a busy one, and I’m excited for it.

Meet my friends from The Dock Bookshop in Fort Worth, Texas. This is the second book signing event they have facilitated on my behalf for the Call and Response Book Tour!

I was happy to be Mom in chief in full bloom today: attending my daughter’s first scrimmage as a freshman on the Varsity volleyball team, then scooting up the highway to appear at this event.

I spoke at a women’s conference in Richardson, and Donna and Trinity set up the sales and signing table for me and sold books to the attendees after I finished my fireside chat with the conference founder, @tamalabardlett ! Congrats to her on a successful event.

I discussed the internal mastery required to show up with executive agency during a time that has really been rough on professional Black women, especially those 50+. Today they learned the neuroscience and positive psychology behind what it takes to truly show up with presence, authority and confidence—all based on the leadership lessons learned from The Original Business School—The Black Church.

And it all began with understanding that we are a powerhouse asset! More photos a little later.
