Honoring Black Authors: A Personal Journey of Leadership and Transformation

Being an author has transformed the lives of thousands—and transformed me.
Each book I’ve written deepens my purpose: reimagining leadership at the intersection of science and culture.
Nonfiction doesn’t just inform—it shifts perspectives. Strategic nonfiction reading enhances critical thinking and decision-making, essential traits for effective leadership.
Even though National Black Authors Day was yesterday, the celebration continues.
🖤 Over 10,000 Black authors are registered in the U.S., yet we represent just 6.3% of all authors. Many, like me, begin by self-publishing.
I’m grateful for my journey—self-publishing my first three leadership books—and proud to now be among Black authors signed to a Big 5 publishing house.
📸 From my recent book signing in Las Vegas, a reminder: our stories shape culture and leadership.
